I found first mention about Armas in our work-blog in March 2010. This design is one of the few, which has not changed at all from the first sketch.
Women want to shape their waist or bust or hips or.. with clothes and I usually think that while designing. How to emphasize the best of the body.
But what about men? Well, I have in the family quite many men with board shoulders and biceps. So when I asked, I already guess what they want to show. V-shape upper body.

So cables to shoulders and v-shape with them also. And it worked, even better I thought. It was almost hilarious when I realized that the cable strands on the front and the back, they really join together like sleeves even the stitch amount is different. Those little surprises of my thinking :D or not thinking..
The yarn is bulky Islandic wool and the pullover is meant to wear outdoors. I'm working now with other Armas, using thinner yarn, Drops Nepal. The gauge doesn't match with original pattern, but I'll tell you how I manage that and what size it will become.
The pullover is worked seamlessly top down and this Armas, in the photos is size 48 ½ "/ 123 cm chest and the pattern includes sizes 37 (39 ¼, 40 ½, 43, 46, 47 ¼, 48 ½, 50 ¾, 42 ¾, 55) / 94 (100, 103, 109, 117, 120, 123, 129, 134, 140) cm. I have quite a battle with the model (my brother, you know how it goes.. :)) about the length of the hem, so I recommend the fitting every now and then while working the pattern.
More in
Ravelry and of course, in the book :D

Armaksesta on ensimmäinen maininta kirjan työblogissa maaliskuussa 2010 kuvan kera.
No hartioita ja hauiksia :) V-mallista yläkroppaa.
Kuvan neule on kokoa 123 cm (ry). Kokoja ohjeessa on 94, 100, 103, 109, 117, 120, 123, 129, 134, 140 cm. Helman pituudesta käytiin mallin kanssa tiukka vääntö, joten suosittelen paidan tekijälle tiuhaa sovitustahtia tuossa vaiheessa.
Lisää tietoja Ravelryssa ja tietysti kirjassa :D
